Little thought is given to the psychology used on television and radio to urge people to spend, spend, spend. Even less thought is given to what is actually behind this holiday, where its roots began, and who is actually worshipped when the customs surrounding it are performed.
It has been placed in the people's minds that this holiday is holy, and by celebrating its customs, which are deeply rooted in pagan godworship, one becomes holy. What Is Righteousness?
What peace did the Savior give to His disciples? If one would read the Scriptures they would find only one way presented to mankind to achieve righteousness, peace and salvation. The inspired Scriptures show that this way has been tested and proven to bring peace through righteousness.
So why are we now facing pandemics, epidemics, and nuclear annihilation in today's civilized, religious world? Is it possible to be religious and not be righteous? Is it possible for the whole world to be deceived? Could deception be the cause for all the hatred that we now see among all nations? Could deception be the cause for all the STDs that are multiplying, becoming epidemics, even pandemics? Could it possibly be the cause for the increase in viruses and the extreme increase in their infections? Could deception also be the cause for the defilement of the earth, water, and air?
Oddly enough, your Bible shows that to be the case. It also shows that all religions are rebelling against the Laws that would prevent all of the above.
Isayah 24:1-6—
1 Before Yahweh's very eyes, the earth is made empty and it is made waste, the face of it is perverted and its inhabitants scattered abroad;
2 And it will be: as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his owner; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with him who takes usury, so with him who gives usury to him:
3 The land will be utterly emptied and utterly plundered, for it has come to pass that this judgment has been pronounced. For Yahweh has said: A curse causeless does not come (Proverbs 26:2). I did not bring this curse upon you; you brought this curse upon yourselves because of the evil you are practicing!
4 The earth mourns and fades away, the world mourns and fades away, and the haughty people of the earth languish.
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants of it, because they have transgressed the Laws, changed the ordinance, and broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Because of this, the curse has devoured the earth, and they who dwell therein are desolate; therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
The Creator, who gave us His Laws of righteousness, health and peace, inspired His prophets to write concerning the cause of disease, defilement, confusion, violence, hatred, and war.
In this generation, all religions on earth have rejected those Laws. No religion on earth today keeps or teaches Yahweh's 613 perfect Laws, except The House of Yahweh, although the Laws are in every Bible, Koran, and the Book of Yahweh and were taught by every prophet, apostle, and the Savior. This deception was also prophesied to take place in this generation.
Revelation 12:9—
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world. She was cast out into the earth, and her angels were cast out with her.
Notice, she deceived the whole world. Why else would anyone reject such perfect Laws as are found in the inspired Scriptures? Yahweh names the religious system "confusion" because of the fact that the mind becomes confused when things classified as unclean and abominable in the inspired Scriptures are put into one's body. This also occurs when the Laws governing sexual activity, written in The Book of Yahweh, are broken. It is a well known fact that syphilis, AIDS, and many other STDs can enter the brain and nervous system. In fact, these diseases can silently set up home, so to speak, in all organs of the body and then years later the infected person becomes aware that there is something wrong within their body.
Science is only now discovering that STDs cause a host of diseases that up until now, have been considered unrelated to STDs. As more studies are done in this field, mankind will see that the inspired Scriptures are true and that rebellion against Yahweh's Laws of righteousness is the cause of these diseases. They will come to realize that sin, breaking Yahweh's Laws of health and peace, is the sole cause of the sickness, disease, hatred, violence and war. The following excerpt proves what I have been teaching for over forty years is true.

STDs and joints: The study of the rheumatic manifestations of sexually transmitted disease is a developing field. Much is known about gonococcal arthritis, for instance, while major questions about the effects of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection on the joint remains unanswered.
HIV infections: Patients may develop Reiters syndrome, psoriatic arthritis, or a painful monarticular or polyarticular syndrome.
Joint involvement as a manifestation of HIV infection has only recently been recognized.Chlamydia: Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common cause of sexually acquired reactive arthritis. It occurs more often in men than in women, is more common in heterosexuals, and frequently coexists with gonorrhea. The patient usually develops urethitis with clear penile discharge, followed in 2-3 weeks by asymmetric oligoarthritis of the lower extremities. Cultures detect the organism only 30% of the time, so diagnosis may depend heavily on the sexual history and clinical picture.
Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common sexually transmitted organism in the world, and like HIV it may cause a reactive arthritis. But while HIV infection is implicated in a number of rheumatic syndromes, chlamydia is associated almost exclusively with Reiters syndrome. In fact, most cases of sexually acquired Reiters syndrome are believed to be caused by either C. trachomatis or ureaplasma realyticum.
While the classic triad of arthritis, urethritis, and iritis or conjunctivitis is very specific for this disease, incomplete forms of Reiters syndrome are often encountered.Gonorrhea: Disseminated gonococcal infection is the most common cause of septic arthritis in young, sexually active people.

Yahweh's Laws Protect
According to the inspired Scriptures, the Laws of Yahweh were written to guide and protect mankind from sickness and disease, and to give them peace. Yahweh's Laws, when performed, are described as righteousness.
Deuteronomy 6:25—
And it will be OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, if we observe to do all of this Law before Yahweh our Father, as He has commanded us.
Notice the benefits shown for those who keep Yahweh's Laws.
Deuteronomy 28:1-11—
1 And it will be, if you will listen diligently to the voice of Yahweh your Father, by observing and doing all His Laws which I command you this day, that Yahweh your Father will set you high above all the nations on earth as His kings and priests.
2 And all these blessings will come upon you, and accompany you, because you obey Yahweh your Father:
3 Blessed will you be in the city, and blessed will you be in the country.
4 Blessed will be the fruit of your body (your children), the produce of your ground (your crops), and the young of your livestock: the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Blessed will be your basket and your storehouse.
6 Blessed will you be when you come in, and blessed will you be when you go out.
7 It will come to pass that your enemies, who rise up against you, will be caused to be defeated in front of you; they will come out against you from one direction, but flee from you in seven directions.
8 Yahweh will send a blessing on your barns and storehouses, and in everything you set your hand to do. Yahweh will bless you in the land which Yahweh your Father is giving you.
9 Yahweh will establish you as His holy people unto Himself, as He promised you on oath, if you will keep the Laws of Yahweh your Father, and walk in all His ways.
10 Then all the people on the earth will see that you are called by the Name of Yahweh, and they will fear you.
11 Yahweh will grant you plenteous possessions__in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground__in the land Yahweh vowed on oath to your forefathers to give you.Exodus 15:26—
And said: If you will diligently listen to the voice of Yahweh your Father, and do what is right in His sight, and will give ear to His Laws, and keep all His statutes, none of these diseases which the Egyptians brought upon themselves will you put upon yourselves; for I am Yahweh Ropheka; Yahweh Your Healer.
Sin is the breaking of Yahweh's Laws and causes sickness and disease to enter into the body. We see this in Scripture. We also see that these diseases are even passed on to the third and fourth generation.
Numbers 14:18—
Yahweh is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means acquits the guilty ones. He will make it known that the diseases caused by the sexual sins of the fathers will be upon their children, to the third and fourth generation.
Today's doctors refer to these diseases as hereditary, but they know that STDs are created, mutated and then passed from fathers and mothers to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The cause of STDs is sin, which is the breaking of Yahweh's Laws—the only Laws that could guide mankind away from these curses.
Deuteronomy 28:15-19, 22-25, 27-28, 30, 46—
15 However, if you do not obey Yahweh your Father, and do not carefully follow all His Laws and His statutes, which I command you this day, then you will cause all these curses to come upon you, and accompany you:
16 Cursed will you be in the city, and cursed will you be in the country.
17 Cursed will be your basket and your storehouse.
18 Cursed will be the fruit of your body, the produce of your land, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.
19 Cursed will you be when you come in, and cursed will you be when you go out.
22 It will come to pass that you will cause yourselves to be struck with consumption, with a fever, with an inflammation, with scorching heat, with the sword, with blasting, and with mildew; they will stay with you, until you perish.
23 And the heaven that is over your heads shall be brass, and the earth under you shall be iron.

25 It will come to pass that you cause yourselves to be defeated before your enemies; you will go out in one direction against them, and flee in seven directions in front of them. You will be an awe-inspiring spectacle to all the kingdoms of the earth.
27 It will come to pass that you will cause yourselves to be afflicted with the diseases of Egypt, with tumors, with festering sores, and the itch__from which you cannot be healed.
28 It will come to pass that you will cause yourselves to be afflicted with madness; and confusion of mind.
30 You will be betrothed to be married to a woman, but another will take her and sleep with her (fornication & adultery). You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not gather its grapes.
46 And these curses shall be upon you and on your descendants forever, for a sign and for a wonder.
Do we have them now? The answer is yes, all over the world.
Deuteronomy 28:59-61—
59 Then it will come to pass that you will cause fearful plagues, harsh and prolonged disasters, and severe and lingering illnesses to be brought upon you and your descendants.
60 It will also come to pass that you will cause all the diseases of Egypt which you were afraid of, to be brought back upon you, and they will cling to you;
61 It will come to pass that you will cause every other sickness and every other disaster, which is not written in this Book of the Law, to also be brought upon you, until you are destroyed.
The apostles of Yahshua knew that children were born blind because of the sins of their fathers or mothers.
Yahchanan 9:1-2—
1 Now as Yahshua passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.
2 Then His disciples asked Him, saying; Teacher, who sinned: this man or his parents, because he was born blind?
The fact that the curses from the sins of the parents are passed to the children was known 2,000 years ago, but few people today are aware that our sins are the cause of these curses, which we call sickness and disease.
Yahweh's Laws would protect mankind if they would keep them, but the religious organizations will not teach Yahweh's Laws for fear of losing members. Rather than teach Yahweh's Laws and turn the people from sin and the resulting curses of sickness and disease, they choose instead to teach that Yahweh's Law have been done away with and that righteousness is found in the celebration of pagan holidays. Remember, the Scriptural definition of righteousness is keeping the Laws of Yahweh.
Deuteronomy 6:25—
And it will be OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, if we observe to do all of this Law before Yahweh our Father, as He has commanded us.
Righteousness involves the following:
Deuteronomy 6:5—
And you must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.Leviticus 19:18, 34—
18 Do not seek revenge nor bear a grudge against one of your own people; but you shall love your neighbor; whether a brother or an enemy, as yourself. I am Yahweh.
34 The stranger living with you must be treated as one of your native-born, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh.
The Savior said that the above mentioned Laws are the two greatest Laws of all the 613 Laws.
Mattithyah 22:36-40—
36 Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?
37 Yahshua said to him: You must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40 On these two commandments hang; depend, all the Law and the Prophets.
The apostles were inspired to write what loving Yahweh actually means. How does one actually keep these greatest Laws? Are they kept by committing fornication, adultery, and lusting after another's wife, daughter, manservant, or maidservant?
Notice some of the 613 Laws, of which are the first and second greatest that the Savior named.
Exodus 20:3-11—
3 You shall have no hinder gods (elohim) at all. They are in opposition against Me.
4 You shall not make for yourself any carved image; an idol, in the form of anything in heaven above, or on the earth beneath, or in the waters below.
5 You shall not bow down to them nor serve them; for I, Yahweh your Father, am a Heavenly Father Who is zealous for My House. I will make it known that the diseases caused by the sexual misconduct of the fathers will be upon their children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me,
6 But I will show my love to thousands who love Me by keeping My Laws.
7 You shall not take the Name of Yahweh your Heavenly Father to bring it to nothing, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who brings dishonor upon or profanes His Name.
8 Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 But the Seventh Day is the Sabbath of Yahweh your Heavenly Father. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your wife, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor the stranger who dwells within your gates.
11 For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them; and rested the Seventh Day. Therefore, Yahweh blessed the Sabbath Day, and hallowed it; Yahweh made the Sabbath Day holy.
Compare Exodus 20:3-11 with what the Apostle Shaul was inspired to write concerning the fourth commandment, which is to remember the seventh day Sabbath.
Hebrews 4:1-3—
1 Therefore, since a promise of entering His rest remains, let us fear so that none of you should come short of it.
2 For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed__
3 However, we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said...
The reason some did not keep the Sabbath is that they did not believe, it was a lack of faith.
Hebrews 4:4-6—
4 For He spoke in a certain place of the Seventh Day, in this way: And Yahweh rested the Seventh Day from all His works.
5 And in this place again: If they will enter into My rest.
6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience.
Again, notice the reason people, then and now, rejected Yahweh's Laws, even the greatest Law of all.
Mattithyah 22:36-38—
36 Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?
37 Yahshua said to him: You must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.I Yahchanan 5:3—
For this is the love of Yahweh: That we keep His Law, and His Law is not grievous.
Again, I ask the question, why do people refuse to keep the Sabbath and the greatest Law of all?
Hebrews 4:6, KJV—
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbeliefHebrews 4:6, Amplified Bible—
Seeing then that the promise remains over [from past times] for some to enter that rest, and that those who formerly were given the good news about it and the opportunity, failed to appropriate it and did not enter because of disobedience.Hebrews 4:11, KJV—
Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.Hebrews 4:11, BOY—
Therefore, let us be zealous to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall after the same example of unbelief.
Religions today are following the same example of unbelief as those who fell in the wilderness. They even teach that these laws are done away with, yet the apostle was inspired to write that this Law still remains.
Hebrews 4:9, BOY—
Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath to the people of Yahweh.Hebrews 4:9, KJV—
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.Hebrews 4:9, Amplified Bible—
So then, there is still awaiting a full and complete Sabbath-rest reserved for the [true] people of God.
Now you know the truth. The reason the preachers are teaching lies about Yahweh's Laws is because of unbelief and disobedience. They don't follow the Savior's teachings, not even about loving Yahweh, which is the greatest Law of all.
Mattithyah 22:36-38—
36 Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?
37 Yahshua said to him: You must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
They don't follow the apostles' teachings either.
I Yahchanan 5:3—
For this is the love of Yahweh: That we keep His Law, and His Law is not grievous.

He who says: I know Him, but does not keep His Law, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.I Yahchanan 3:4,7-8—
4 Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Yahweh was manifested; that He might destroy the works of the devil.Hebrews 4:4, 10—
4 For He spoke in a certain place of the Seventh Day, in this way: And Yahweh rested the Seventh Day from all His works.
10 For he who has entered into His rest has also ceased from his own works, as Yahweh did from His.Hebrews 10:25—
Not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as you see the day approaching.
The Apostle Shaul is speaking of gathering on the seventh day Sabbath, because the whole Law shows it to be a holy convocation or holy gathering. He is saying, "Don't forsake gathering on that day, as some are doing." Read the next verse and remember that sin is the breaking of Yahweh's Laws.
Hebrews 10:26—
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.
Remember what sin is according to the inspired words of the apostles.
I Yahchanan 3:4—
Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law.
The Prophet Yeremyah was inspired to write the following to the preachers, religious organization, and their followers.
Yeremyah 23:21-22—
21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran; I have not spoken of them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in My counsel, and had caused My people to hear My words; the Law and the Prophets, then they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Notice, he showed why there is so much evil in the world. It's because Yahweh's Laws are not taught; neither is there any salvation in all of this deception. Compare the following Scriptures.
Revelation 12:9—

The only salvation is in obedience to Yahweh, as the Savior, prophets and apostles wrote.
Revelation 22:12-16—
12 And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work will be.
13 I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 Blessed are those who keep His Laws, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshippers of gods (elohim) and everyone who professes to love, yet practices breaking the Law.
16 I, Yahshua, have sent My malak to testify to you these things in the congregations of The House of Yahweh. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star.Mattithyah 19:17-19—
17 But He said to him: Why do you question Me about righteousness? There is only One Who is the standard of perfection, and that is Yahweh; so if you would enter into life, keep the Laws of Yahweh.
18 He then asked Yahshua; Which ones? Yahshua said: You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false testimony.
19 Honor your father and mother, and; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.Revelation 20:11-12—
11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him Who sat on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before Yahweh. And the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is The Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
The Scriptures are very plain, righteousness is obedience to Yahweh's Laws—every Law.
Yaaqob 2:8-12—
8 If you fulfill the royal Law according to the Scripture: You must love your neighbor as yourself, you do righteousness;
9 But if you show respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convicted by the Law as transgressors.
10 For whoever keeps the whole Law, and yet offends in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For He Who said: Do not commit adultery, also said: Do not murder. Now if you do not commit adultery, yet you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law.
12 So speak, and so do, as those who are being judged by the Law of liberty.
The world is so deceived that they actually think that celebrating pagan holidays is righteousness. Therefore, they tell their children lies at Christmas, and send them out looking for rabbit eggs in worship of the Easter goddess.
Fornication, adultery, and murder, are lusted after and agreed to with absolutely no second thought or repentance. Forty-six million (46,000,000) babies are murdered each year, as a result of uncontrolled lust, fornication, and adultery. That's right, forty-six million each year, by forty-six million different women. That's 126,000 daily.
Will The Religious Organizations Repent?
You will soon see an exchange of nuclear weapons among the hate-filled nations and a third part of men, over a fourth part of the earth, will be killed. Yet, the religious organizations still will not repent of evil. They will continue to reject Yahweh's Laws even after this devastation takes place.
Revelation 9:20-21—
20 And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues, still did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and gods (elohim, teraphim) of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk;
21 Neither did they repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
According to the Greek dictionary in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, the word sorceries is word #5331, and means: pharmacy, medication.
They will not repent. Instead, they will insist that they are doing many wonderful works, not righteousness because that only comes by keeping Yahweh's every Law.
Mattithyah 7:21-23—
21 Not everyone who says to Me; Teacher! Teacher! will enter into the Kingdom of Yahweh, but only he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day; Teacher! Teacher! Have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and in Your Name performed many wonderful works?
23 But then I will declare to them; I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who practice iniquity; you who break the Law of Yahweh!
According to the Greek dictionary in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, the word iniquity is word #458 from word #459, and means: transgression of the law, not subject to the law.
458. a*nomiva an™mia, an-om-ee¢-ah; from 459; illegality, i.e. violation of law or (gen.) wickedness:—iniquity, x transgress (-ion of) the law, unrighteousness.
459. a!nomo" an™m™s, an¢-om-os; from 1 (as a neg. particle) and 3551; lawless, i.e. (neg.) not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by impl. a Gentile), or (pos.) wicked;—without law, lawless, transgressor, unlawful, wicked.
There is enough scientific evidence available now to prove that the inspired Scriptures are true. Man's sins of fornication and adultery cause sickness and disease. Children, today, are born with more kinds of diseases than ever in the history of mankind—all caused by STDs. Notice the following excerpts.
Syphilis
Syphilis is a venereal (sexually transmitted) disease that presents a myriad of signs and symptoms, often imitating other disorders. Syphilis is still an important cause of eye (and systemic) disease, and is being diagnosed with increasing frequency in the AIDS population of patients.
Primary syphilis may progress to secondary syphilis within one to three months. At this stage, virtually any organ may become involved, especially the kidneys, liver, gastrointestinal tract, central nervous system, and joints. The patient is often mildly to severely ill, with fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and joint pain. About 10% of patients that progress to this stage will develop ocular (eye or eyesight) complication. This is most commonly characterized by uveitis (iritis), i.e., inflammation inside of the eye. Tertiary syphilis may follow secondary syphilis in the untreated, and is characterized by cardiovascular (heart and blood vessels) involvement and neurosyphilis. The ensuring complication are legion (a large number; multitude).
The potential ocular complications of syphilis are so diverse, that an all-inclusive list will not be presented here. In general, most of the ocular complications occur either in the secondary or tertiary stages of the disease. The secondary stage of syphilis may present with inflammatory signs and symptoms involving virtually any structure of the eye. These conditions may include conjunctivitis, iritis, vitritis, episcleritis, scleritis, neuroretinitis, chorioretinitis, and exudative retinal detachment. Tertiary syphilis may present with all of the above findings, including abnormal pupillary findings, oculomotor palsies, glaucoma and many other ocular disorders.
The ocular complications of this disease may run the gamut (entire range or extent) from slight irritation and red eyes to devastating visual loss.Scleritis
About 50% of patients will have an associated systemic autoimmune disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, erythematosus, Wegener's granulomatosis, polyarteritis nodosa, or ankylosing spondylitis. Other associated disorders include Herpes zoster infection (shingles), syphilis, tuberculosis, and gout.Nodular Scleritis
Nodular scleritis is characterized by a focal area of inflammation on the eye, which is very tender.
An enlarged depression (called a "cup to disc ratio") in the optic nerve may be indicative of glaucoma. (The exact description of this and a number of other important variables are disregarded here for the sake of succinctness.)
Congenital glaucoma indicates glaucoma that is present at or near birth. Infantile glaucoma is present within the first 3 years of life and juvenile glaucoma occurs after 3 years of age.www.eyemdlink.com

A sharp increase in the number of people having sex with multiple partners makes it more difficult for public health doctors to trace the contacts of infected persons.
About 50% of patients with secondary syphilis develop swollen lymph nodes in the armpits, groin, and neck areas; about 10% develop inflammations of the eyes, kidney, liver, spleen, bones, joints, or the meninges (membranes covering the brain and spinal cord). They may also have a flu-like general illness with a low fever, chills, loss of appetite, headaches, runny nose, sore throat, and aching joints.
Tertiary syphilis
Syphilis progresses to third or tertiary stage in about 35-40% of patients. Gummas are rubbery tumor-like growths that are most likely to involve the skin or long bones but may also develop in the eyes...
Cardiovascular syphilis occurs in 10-15% of patients who have progressed to tertiary syphilis, and often occurs together with neurosyphilis. Neurosyphilis can appear at any time, from five to 35 years after the onset of primary syphilis.
Congenital syphilis has increased at a rate of 400-500% over the past decade... In 1994, more than 2,200 cases of congenital syphilis were reported in the United States. About 54% of infected fetuses die before or shortly after birth.
Infants with early congenital syphilis have systemic symptoms that resemble those of adults with secondary syphilis. There is a 40-60% chance that the child's central nervous system will be infected. These infants may have symptoms ranging from jaundice, enlargement of the spleen and liver, and anemia to skin rashes, condylomata lata, certain congenital bone abnormalities, inflammation of the lungs, "snuffles" (a persistent runny nose), and swollen lymph nodes.
Children who develop symptoms after the age of two years are said to have late congenital syphilis.
Syphilis can be transmitted from the mother to the fetus through the placenta at any time during pregnancy, or through the child's contact with syphilic ulcers during the birth process. The chances of infection are related to the stage of the mother's disease. Almost all infants of mothers with primary or secondary syphilis will be infected, whereas the infection rate drops to 40% if the mother is in the early latent stage and 6-14% if she has late latent syphilis.
Pregnancy does not affect the progression of syphilis in the mother.
The only reliable methods for preventing transmission of syphilis are sexual abstinence or relationships between uninfected partners.Enotes.com
