Mostly due to propaganda, that was started in schools but is present in people of all ages, we tend to desire to trust in our kings, presidents, governors, and the armies they form. We are taught to believe that our governments can protect us, and that they will eventually acquire and preserve peace for us.
History shows that people in every nation for the most part believe this same thing. In fact, for thousands of years all people in every nation have believed and trusted in their particular government to protect them and deliver them, even through the sufferings they've experienced and witnessed, from sickness, diseases and oppression, to the wars, death and destruction that have come from the sword in which they trusted. And now we have powers much more "protective" than the sword! We have the greatest Gods of all timesour nuclear devices!
Today, we as nations, put much too much trust in our Gods of war. The situation that we've put ourselves in because of this trust, is actually ironic. As nations, we put so much trust in our Gods of war because of the great destructive capabilities they have, that we can hardly see the vulnerability of these Gods and the vulnerable position they put us intheir capability to destroy our own lives and our own cities!
All nations' leaders have always "talked peace" while they have prepared for war. But the time has come when such awesome weapons, which have been develped due to modern technology, and war waged with them, have the capability of completely destroying the human race.
As human beings, we tend to think wer're safe in the particular nation in which we live. Of course, if one would truly consider the shocking fact that our enemies have the same technology and experience to manufacture the same mass-destructive nuclear weapons we have (or maybe ones even greater-- 20 megaton and larger), then that false sense of safety would be dissolved.
Hatred is building. In fact, small bombs being detonated by terrorsts and those on suicide missions, are killing many innocent people in just about every country and nation on earth today. As horrible as these occurrences are, we still face the daily threat of enemies using their most powerful weapons -- nuclear warheads. With the guided missiles that carry these nuclear weapons, any nation could be destroyed in one day.
